The purpose of the project was to develop a prototype that presents rich natural and cultural heritage in Slovenia, using data from the National and university library and from Park Škocjanske jame and thus serve as a case study about usefulness of informational and technological solutions for other Slovenian institutions that keep collections of natural and cultural heritage.
The result of the project was provisioning of examination of natural and cultural heritage in one place online, enriched with spatial presentation in the form of texts, photographs, sound and video clips and an interactive map, capable of presenting the terrain in both two and three dimensions.
The display is interactive and allows for examination of geographical neighborhood; the display on the map next to the location examined presents also interesting locations nearby and provides for additional understanding of influences e.g. geographical features, spatial relationships between objects, etc.
