Preventing unauthorized people from having access to information, safeguarded by the Cloud Service Provider, draws special attention in the time when surveillance oversteps all imaginable boundaries and cracking communication codes has become a habit. Cloud Service Providers are trying to regain the trust of ordinary users, who need assurances that their data is safe in the cloud. The steps that we take towards a “Trustworthy ICT” are also presented in the EU funded SPECS project. It will develop an open source framework to offer Security-as-a-Service and enable user-centric negotiation of security parameters in Cloud SLA. You want: -Assurance that the Cloud Service Provider’s personnel will not have access to your data -Guarantee that only authorized people can access your data -Assess a CSP’s ability to meet the security requirements and select CSP on this basis SPECS offers solutions: -Security-as-a-Service (SECaaS), a Platform which offers security services -Service Level Agreement (SLA) for Security -End-User and CSP features described though SLAs -SECaaS granted through the SLA life cycle.
